ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team's (6-7) final day at the RIT Invitational mirrored the first. The Bears fell in their first contest, a 3-1 defeat to the host Tigers (7-5) before rebounding for a 3-1 win over Brockport (4-6). Senior middle hitter Sara Anderson was named to the all-tournament team.

Against the RIT, Potsdam fell in the first two sets by scores of 25-13 and 25-21. The Bears gutted out a 27-25 victory in the third set before succumbing to the Tigers 25-18 in the finale. Anderson racked up another 11 kills and recorded two blocks. Senior setter Jenna Blujus totaled seven kills, 16 assists, 11 digs and four aces. Senior outside hitter Dakota Pruiss also contributed seven kills and a block. Senior setter Lauren Manzo finished with nine assists.

Potsdam was up against a familiar face on the sidelines in the later match against Brockport. The Golden Eagles were led by former Bears' head coach Steve Pike, but it was current head coach Josh Stokes' squad the had the upper hand. The Bears rallied from a late deficit in set one to capture a 25-21 victory. Brockport bounced back in set two with a 25-20 win before being closed out by Potsdam with to straight victories of 25-22 and 25-16. Anderson was dominant again with a season-high 15 kills, while Pruiss also had a season-best effort with 12. Junior outside hitter Liza Fields posted eight kills and nine digs. Blujus totaled six kills, a season-high 32 assists and 13 digs. Manzo chipped in 12 assists and seven digs. Sophomore outside hitter Casey Chase put together a breakout game with six kills and nine digs. Freshman libero Sloane Campbell set a career-best with 22 digs and Arana closed the day with 11.

The Bears are back in action on Tuesday, when they travel to Colchester, Vt. for a rematch with Saint Michael's College at 7 p.m. The Purple Knights downed Potsdam in five sets in the final game of the Victory Promotions Invitational on Sept. 7.
