ONEONTA, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team (10-8, 1-3 SUNYAC) lost to New Paltz and Cortland by identical 3-0 scores on Day Two of SUNYAC East Pool Play.
The Hawks defeated the Bears 25-14, 25-15, and 25-15. Sophomore setter Jenna Blujus finished with 11 digs and 18 assists. Sophomore outside hitter Dakota Pruiss added eight digs and seven kills, while senior outside hitter Samantha Strader posted five kills.
Potsdam started stronger against the Red Dragons before falling 25-22, 25-13, and 25-13. Blujus had another strong match with 20 assists and two aces. Pruiss contributed eight more kills and five digs and Strader wrapped up her weekend with eight kills and six digs.
“We didn’t stay in system enough to keep up with their pace,” said Bears Head Coach Steve Pike. “We’ll keep working. We just need to get healthy.”
Potsdam returns home to face SUNY Canton at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
