Over the weekend at the Fredonia Invitational, Taylor set a school record and two pool records, while recording an NCAA B qualifying time. He won three solo events. On Sunday, Taylor cruised to a first place time of 2:06.12 in the 200 breaststroke to break his own school record by 0.49 seconds. The time was also a Fredonia pool record and an NCAA B qualifying time. Saturday, the senior set a pool record in the 100 breaststroke with a winning time of 0:58.70. Taylor also won the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:58.38.
In his four years at Potsdam, Taylor has been named Swimmer of the Week four times. He was second team All-SUNYAC as a sophomore and first team last season as a junior. Taylor also owns Potsdam records in the 400 IM, 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.
The swimming and diving teams are back in action on Jan. 19, when the Bears host St. Lawrence University.
