POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team will wear black uniforms as it hosts SUNY Plattsburgh in its SUNYAC opener at Maxcy Turf Field on Saturday, at 1 p.m. The Bears urge attending fans to dress in black to show their support.
Saturday's contest will also mark the final of six home games at which the team is collecting non-perishable food items for donation to the Potsdam Neighborhood Center, a division of the Food Bank of Central New York. Bins designated for the collection of the food will be located at the base of the stands closest to Maxcy Hall.
The team will be also selling black t-shirts for $7 for interested students and staff.
The Bears battled the Cardinals to a scoreless draw last Sept. 29, before falling 4-0 in rematch on Oct. 29 in the first round of the SUNYAC Playoffs.
