On Saturday night, the Bears senior captain scored the game-winning goal in Potsdam's playoff clinching 2-1 victory over SUNY Cortland. Waters broke a 1-1 tie with a shot from the right point at 3:14 of the third period.
This season, the defenseman has two goals and eight assists for a career-high 10 points, having played in all 25 of the Bears contests. He has six goals and 19 assists for 25 points in 96 career games.
Wednesday night, Waters leads sixth-seeded Potsdam into a SUNYAC Quarterfinal showdown at third-seeded SUNY Geneseo at 7 p.m. The Bears split the season series with the Ice Knights this season. Potsdam dropped a 6-2 road decision on Nov. 17 and upset the then 14th-ranked Geneseo squad 4-3 in overtime at Massena Arena on Feb. 9.
