POTSDAM, N.Y.-For the second week in a row, SUNY Potsdam women's hockey player Annmarie Lewis has been named the ECAC West's Player of the Week.
The Bears' senior captain scored four goals and registered four assists for an eight-point weekend at home in two games against Chatham. Lewis recorded a hat trick and three helpers in Potsdam's 10-0 victory on Friday. On Senior Saturday, the forward added another goal and an assist in the Bears' 6-0 shutout over the Cougars.
In 20 games this season, Lewis leads the Bears with a career-high 30 points. She is also the team leader in goals (17), power-play goals (4) and game-winning goals (3). Lewis is the Bears all-time leading scorer with 44 goals and 47 assists for 91 points in 93 career games.
With the two victories, Potsdam matched its program-best record with 10 wins and set a new school mark with seven conference victories. The wins against Chatham also helped the Bears secure their second playoff berth in their four seasons of existence.
Potsdam (10-8-3, 7-8-3 ECAC West) will head to Sacred Heart on Feb. 17-18, for two games with the Division I Pioneers. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
