ROCHESTER, N.Y—The SUNY Potsdam men's golf team closed out their season this weekend at the Nazareth Invitational. Junior Conor Talty (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) finished tied for sixth after the two-day tournament. University of Ottawa won the tournament with a two-day score of 618 while Clarkson University finished right behind them with a 624 score.
Talty finished out this junior season shooting an 81 in round one and a 75 in round two totaling 156. Fellow juniors John Hickey (Au Sable Forks, N.Y./Au Sable Valley) tied for 17th with an 84 in round one and a 78 in round two and Daniel Kurtz (Livonia, N.Y./Livonia) shot a 173 on the weekend tied for 25th. Kevin Doherty (Amherst, N.Y./Amherst) finished a stroke behind Kurtz while Billy Vlad (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Croton Harmon) rounded out the Bears shooting 181.
The golf team closes out the season with four top-four finishes, including two individual tournament victories by Talty, in seven events.
