MACEDON, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's golf team competed in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship this weekend. St. John Fisher College won the tournament with a two-day score of 581 with New York University finishing second with a 619 score. The Bears finished 9th at the tournament with a score of 665.
Junior John Hickey (Au Sable Forks, N.Y./Au Sable Valley) lead the Bears this weekend with an 83 in round one and 76 in round two for a total of 159 to finish tied for 21. Junior Conor Talty (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) finished tied for 34th, shooting 79 in round one and 84 in round two totaling 163. Senior Ryan Merriman (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam) filled out the top three golfers for Potsdam with a total score of 170. Fellow juniors Kevin Doherty (Amherst, N.Y./Amherst) and Daniel Kurtz (Livonia, N.Y./Livonia) finished 51st and 56th with scores of 173 and 178.
The Bears will finish the season at the Nazareth Invitational next Saturday and Sunday in Rochester, N.Y.
