MIDDLEBURY, V.T. - The SUNY Potsdam men's golf team participated in a two day tournament at the Duke Nelson Invitational this weekend. Rensselaer Tech won the tournament with a two-day score of 605 with Trinity College finishing second, just two strokes behind. The Bears ended the weekend at 13th with a score of 648.
Junior Conor Talty (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) pulled through for his team this weekend with a 85 in round one and a 77 in round two this morning for a total of 162. Junior Kevin Doherty (Amherst, N.Y./Amherst) also proved himself to be just as motivated this weekend with a 84 in round one and a 78 in round two tying Talty with a total of 162. Junior John Hickey (AU Sable Forks, N.Y./ AU Sable Valley) and Junior Daniel Kurtz (Livonia, N.Y./Livonia) shot a 84 and 79 tying at 163 and Senior Ryan Merriman (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam) (83-88-171) finished 8 strokes behind.
