Potsdam, NY – Sophomore Conor Bartlett notched a career-high seven points on four goals and three assists to lead the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team to a 16-7 win over Bard College on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.

The Golden Knights evened their record to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in conference games, while the Raptors dropped to 2-7 and 0-5. Clarkson faces Route 11 rival St. Lawrence University on Wednesday night.

Although Bard scored the first goal of the contest less than three minutes into the first quarter, it was a dominating effort Clarkson throughout the game. The Knights held the Raptors to just three shots in the first period and five in the second while flipping 30 on Bard's cage in the opening half. Back-to-back goals from Tanner Cioffi midway through the second period put the Knights up 6-2 and a late goal from Bartlett, assisted by Cioffi, with just 12 seconds left proved to be the game-winner.

The Knights led by a tally of 16-4 in the middle of the fourth quarter before Peter Sojka found the net three times in the final seven minutes to get the Raptors back within single digits.

Clarkson held significant advantages in virtually every category, winning 24 of the 27 faceoffs, outshooting Bard 64-15 (including 40-12 in shots on goal), and gaining 47 groundballs to the Raptors 24.

Bartlett scored a career-high seven points with four goals and three assists while Pierce Currie recorded five points on two goals and three assists. Tanner Cioffi picked up three points with two goals and an assist. Five other players also tallied two points for the Knights. Ryan Gabriel won 15 of his 16 chances on faceoffs and scooped up eight groundballs, and Mark Uhlig added in five groundballs to go along with his two points. Kevin Dyckman stopped four shots in 45 minutes to earn the win in the Clarkson crease.

For Bard, Peter Sojka proved to be the majority of the team's offense with five goals. Lyle Healey was busy in Bard's crease, making 23 saves on 37 shots on goal and also picking up seven groundballs.
