Conor Healey had three goals and an assist to lead a St. Lawrence University attack which saw 11 different goal scorers and the Saints snapped a four-game losing skid with a 14-6 win over Skidmore in the Liberty League opener for both teams in Saratoga Springs on Saturday.

Skidmore's Josh Trachenberg scored the game's first two goals before Tommy Hovey put the Saints on the board with his 19th of the year from Charlie Duprey at 5:43 of the first period. Skidmore went up 3-1 to start the second, but then the Saints went on a 9-0 run which carried into the third quarter to take a commanding lead.

The Saints improved to 3-4 overall on the year and are 1-0 in the Liberty League heading into a Tuesday non-league game at Geneseo.

Healey finished the first half scoring and started the second half with his ninth and 10th goals of the year and Duprey scored from Jeremy Vautour with 10:56 to go in the third and Charlie Jennings followed with a man up goal from Healey 36 seconds later to make it 8-3.

Skidmore cut the lead to 10-5 with two late in the third period, but the Saints went on another 4-0 run which included Healey's third of the game to make it 14-5 before Skidmore scored the game's final goal.

Andrew Butturini made nine saves and had five ground balls for the Saints while Alec Dietsch had four caused turnovers to go with seven faceoff wins and Macky Lynch had five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Chris Baughan had 13 saves for Skidmore.

The Saints outshot Skidmore 43-26 for the game and went two for four with the extra man while killing all five Skidmore man-up chances.

In addition to Healey's four point game, Vautour had a goal and three assists. Hovey and Duprey had a goal and an assist each.
