Cara Waterson scored 16 points and Sarah Thomas added 11 points as 12 of the 13 players scored points for the St. Lawrence University Women's Basketball team Monday night in an 87-53 non-conference victory over SUNY Canton at Burkman Gymnasium in Canton.

The Saints (11-3) took an early lead and held a 22-9 advantage after the first 10 minutes of action. The lead was never inLauren Quattrocchi scored nine points in a balanced attack against SUNY Canton question as St. Lawrence added to the lead with an 18-10 differential in the second quarter taking a 40-19 lead into the intermission.

"It was great to see the team come out with a lot of energy and intensity tonight," said Head Coach Dan Roiger. "We had everyone sprinting and playing hard. We said before the game that we would be better or worse, but wouldn't stay the same, and I believe we got better tonight."

Nearly every player scored at least one basket for the Saints.

Senior Lauren Quattrocchi scored nine points, grabbed four rebounds, handed out seven assists and had seven steals for a well-rounded game.

Olivia St. Pierre and Shayna Davner added eight points each while Meghan O'Connor had five points and a team-leading eight rebounds.

The 87 points was the most scored for the Saints since early last year when St. Lawrence scored 90 in a win over Plattsburgh on December 2.

The Saints connected on 48% of their shots from the field and forced 26 turnovers with 20 steals.

"It was a great team effort," said Roiger. "The minutes were pretty even through our roster and everyone had a chance to get some significant minutes. What I like the most is our 29 assists on 36 baskets. It was a great indicator of our unselfishness and team basketball."

The Saints hit the road for four consecutive Liberty League games starting Friday at RPI.
