Allan McPherson '14, a two-time MVP for the Clarkson University Hockey team and a 100-point scorer for the Golden Knights, has signed a one-year, two-way American Hockey League contract with the Rochester Americans.
McPherson, 24, recorded eight points (3+5) and four penalty minutes in 44 games with the Amerks last year in his first full pro season. He also registered 23 points (8+15) and 18 penalty minutes in 24 ECHL games with the Elmira Jackals. In 2013-14, McPherson appeared in five AHL games and recorded one assist with the Abbotsford Heat after completing his collegiate career at Clarkson.
In four seasons at Clarkson, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound native of Kinburn, Ontario, registered 103 points (41-62) and 88 penalty minutes in 150 games. As a senior in 2013-14, McPherson led the Golden Knights in scoring with a career-high 32 points (13+19) in 42 games. He was the Green and Gold's MVP in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
