Francestown, NH – Forcing in four slalom runs on one day to stay ahead of the weather, the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team nevertheless received some tremendous individual performances from Thomas Daigle and Rhiannon Allison to highlight the day at Crotched Mountain.

In the morning's runs, a handful of Clarkson skiers were unable to keep their footing, the Knights still had five skiers finish in the top 20 among the 56 competitors. Thomas Daigle's two solid trips down the mountain allowed him to finish fourth overall with a time of 1:28.91. No one else finished in the top 10 for Clarkson, but Colden Mrak took 11th in 1:30.88 and Nick Lacasse came in 12th in 1:32.03 Backing up the Knights were freshman Evan Wetzel (17th, 1;33.44) and Kelsey Kubota (19th, 1:35.00). Griffin Curtis (21st, 1:35.08), Tyler Brown (27th, 1:38.57) and Max Wonsavage (29th, 1:42.09) were also in the top 30.

Junior Rhiannon Allison enjoyed a career-best ninth-place finish in the first slalom race with a combined time of 1:39.31, but she would improve upon that later in the day. Senior Caroline Bonin came in 18th with a time of 1:42.37 while Kaitlin Howley (23rd, 1:46.45) and Taylor Hubert (27th, 1:49.21) also finished in the top half of the 59 participants.

Although the teams were under the lights for the second runs in each of the latter two slalom races, it did little to change the outcome. Allison again put together two great runs to finish sixth among 57 skiers in slalom number-two, finishing with a time of 1:45.90. After a disappointing first run, Caroline Bonin put together one of the 10 fastest second trips and vaulted up to 16th overall with a time of 1:54.89. Sarah Smith came in 30th in 2:11.81 and Sara LoPresti was 37th in 2:25.39.

Daigle was almost able to sneak away with a win in the second slalom race, but his second run was just a little too slow to hold on, finishing in second in 1:30.98. Daigle was again joined by four of his teammates in the top 20, with Mrak coming in seventh in 1:34.09 and Lacasse placing 14th in 1:35.72. Nathan Breselden recovered from a tumble in the first race of the day to take 17th in race number-two with a time of 1:36.29, and Kubota edged up one spot to claim 18th in 1:37.86. Wonsavage finished 22nd (1:39.71), Curtis came in 24th (1:40.45), Matthew Kane took 26th (1:42.66) and Brown ended up in 35th after a strong second run (1:52.66).
