The St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team lost its second straight game to a nationally-ranked opponent on Monday, as the Saints fell to No. 18 Geneseo State by the score of 13-8 in Orlando, FL.
Junior Peter Carpenter, sophomore Dave Hovey and first-year student Pierson Fowler each scored a pair of goals for St. Lawrence (0-2). Junior Kyle Jacobsen and sophomore Tucker Garfield each added one goal as well.
The game was the first of two outings during the University's spring vacation for the Scarlet and Brown. The Saints, now 0-2 on the young season, will look to earn its first win of the season on Friday against Western New England College.
Geneseo State (2-1) used an impressive first half to seize control of Monday's game. The Blue Knights scored the only eight goals of the half and took an 8-0 lead into intermission. Though St. Lawrence would put together a six-goal fourth quarter, it wasn't enough to rally past Geneseo State, which secured the 13-8 victory.
Friday's game against WNEC will begin at approximately 2:00pm.
