Williams College, ranked 12th nationally, handed St. Lawrence University's women's squash team its first loss of the season with a 7-2 win in Williamstown on Wednesday.
Jill Baker and Brigette Tousignant had the wins for the Saints at one and three as the 20th-ranked Saints head into a stretch of matches against top ten teams. The 2-1 Saints will play at second-ranked Trinity and fourth ranked Yale on Jan. 17-18 in their next outing.
Baker remained unbeaten on the season with a 3-2 win over Nicole Friedman at one, winning 11-4, 11-8, 8-11, 7-11, 12-10 and Tousignant also won her fourth straight match with a 11-9, 11-8, 11-6 win over Nicole Feshbach at three.
Williams' Haley Parsons beat Emily Terry, 11-1, 11-8, 11-4 at two, Ellen Coombe was a 11-3, 14-12, 11-6 winner over SLU's Zoe Kagan at four, Charlotte Walsh beat Cristina de la Vega 11-2, 11-3, 11-6 at five and Ananya Mahalingam-Dhingra beat Val Quan 11-5 11-9, 11-3 at six.
Alyssa Ritchie was a 11-1, 11-4, 11-0 winner over Allie Brazo at seven, Caroline Hogan beat Losangela Batista 11-1, 11-3, 11-3 at eight, Lily Grant beat Paige Buchanan, 11-3, 11-2, 11-4 and Celestia Lancaster won the exhibition match at ten with a 11-1, 11-0, 11-3 win over Bobbi Lesser.
