Woman charged with possessing synthetic marijuana at Gouverneur prison

GOUVERNEUR -- A Syracuse woman is charged with several counts after allegedly possessing synthetic marijuana at Gouverneur Correctional Facility.

Rochelle M. Pagan, 40, is charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, second-degree reckless endangerment and a public health law violation for violating state sanitary code, troopers said.

Staff at the facility called troopers at 10:35 a.m. Saturday after discovering Pagan in possession of the contraband, police said.

She was arraigned in Macomb Town Court and released on her own recognizance, troopers said.
