POTSDAM – A Winthrop man faces multiple charges after he allegedly drove an unregistered and uninspected vehicle with improper plates and a forged inspection.
Jon L. Larue, 23, was charged with no inspection, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle without insurance, displaying forged inspection certificate and improper plates.
Potsdam Police fielded a complaint regarding a vehicle being operated erratically on Lawrence Avenue.
Patrols located the vehicle in traffic and a DMV inquiry revealed the vehicle was operating with switched plates.
A traffic stop was initiated on Main Street and subsequent investigation revealed the vehicle was unregistered, uninsured, and uninspected.
The operator had also placed a fictitious inspection sticker on the windshield of the vehicle.
