DEKALB -- State police say they charged two men with possession approximately five pounds of pot following a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 11 Tuesday night.
Elisantiago R. Rivero-Goitia, 25 and Miguelangel R. Gonzalez, both of Utica, were both charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, felony, around 7:30 p.m., troopers said.
The two men allegedly pulled up to a DWI road check in a 2003 Nissan Maxima, traveling southbound. The marijuana was found inside a cooler in the vehicle.
Both men were arraigned in Fowler Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County Jail. Bail for Rivero-Goitia was set at $2,000 and bail for Gonzales was $5,000. The men are to appear in court Aug. 25 to face the charges.
