MASSENA -- Village Police charged two people with felony pot possession after they were allegedly found with more than one pound of the plant.
Nancy L. Best, 30, of 724 Division Avenue, Niagra Falls and James G. Spotted Elk, 40, of 2388 Upper Mountain, Sanborn are each facing one count of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
The marijuana was allegedly found by U.S. Border Patrol agents who stopped their vehicle on state Route 37 around 1:10 a.m. Friday.
The pair was arraigned in Massena Village Court before Justice Eric Gustafson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton. Best is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond, Spotted Elk is being held without bail.
