State police arrest Norfolk, Hogansburg and Russell residents on DWI charges

MASSENA — A Norfolk resident was charged with driving while intoxicated on SH 37 on Sunday morning, according to state police.

On Feb.4, around 1:50 a.m., state police conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero, for failure to keep right and inadequate exhaust.

The driver, 18-year old Cameron J. Clark, was arrested for first-offense DWI, police said. He allegedly refused to provide a breath sample for a preliminary breath test.

He was found in possession of a marijuana smoking device containing trace amounts of pot, troopers said. His blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.11 percent.

Clark was charged unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to keep right, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and inadequate exhaust, police said.

He was released with tickets returnable to the Town of Massena Court.

MASSENA — A Hogansburg man was charged with driving while intoxicated on SH 37 on Saturday night, according to state police.

State police conducted a traffic stop around 11:40 p.m. on a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, traveling east at 84 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone, officers said.

The driver, 53-year-old Michael D. Croney, was charged with first-offense DWI following the stop, officers said.

He was determined to have a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent, police said.

Croney was also ticketed for speeding and released on tickets returnable to Massena court.

RUSSELL — A Russell man was charged with first-offense driving while intoxicated on CR 17 on Sunday evening, according to state police.

Cornelius B. Leonard, 64, was charged with DWI and inadequate plate lamp at 7:10 p.m., officers said.

He was cited and released.
