Alicia Murphy, Community Action Angels’ Coordinator donates a Wii to St. Lawrence NYSARC’s Crossroads program.

MASSENA -- St. Lawrence NYSARC recently announced the donation of a Nintendo Wii from the Community Action Angels program. St. Lawrence NYSARC’s day habilitation program in Massena will benefit from the contribution.

Massena Day Habilitation offers seniors with intellectual and developmental disabilities activities that promote individualized opportunities. The Wii and games donated by the Angels will be used by program participants as another option for fitness and skill building. The games also give the group a fun activity to do in their leisure time. Community Action Angels Program is a volunteer program dedicated to meeting the needs of individuals who are not eligible for other services.

The St. Lawrence County Community Development Program is the parent Agency of the Action Angels. The foundation of the program is the spirit of generosity. The Community Action Angels believe that all people should be given the opportunity to create a Circle of Giving.

In fact, the Wii was the Angels’ way of “giving back” because people at Massena Day Habilitation have done a few folding projects for them in the past.
