RENSSELAER FALLS -- A Rensselaer Falls man is accused of felony assault and reckless endangerment for attacking his former girlfriend with a knife as she tried to retrieve some of her child's belongings.
Girard R. Gillett, 42, is in the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond after arraignment before Potsdam Town Justice on charges of first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.
The woman was not injured in the attack.
The report from the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred at a King Street residence Oct. 31.
