A Potsdam woman was charged with driving under the influence of drugs following a car accident on County Route 24 in Bellmont.
Troopers said they responded to a report of a one- car crash involving a 2006 Ford Taurus Jan. 1 at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Upon investigation, troopers discovered the driver to be 24-year-old Danielle M. Kreider. She was reportedly traveling east on County Route 24 when she lost control of the vehicle and ran off the south shoulder of the roadway and struck an earth embankment.
Kreider was transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center for a report of head, back and leg pain.
She was found to be operating under the influence of drugs and charged for driving while ability impaired by drugs and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
She was also ticketed for speed unreasonable, officers said.
Kreider was released on appearance tickets returnable to Bellmont Town Court Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.
