Potsdam police charge woman for driving while intoxicated

POTSDAM -- Potsdam police say they charged a woman for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop Monday evening on Pierrepont Avenue.

Melissa J. Kenwell, 32, Carthage, was charged at 11:59 p.m. with first-offense DWI, disobeying a traffic control device and failure to to keep right, officers said.

A chemical test reportedly revealed a blood alcohol content of .17 percent, police said.

She was released on appearance tickets returnable to Potsdam Village Court Sept. 19 at 9:30 a.m., officers said.
