Ogdensburg woman awarded Stand Energy Prize

Emily Bush of Ogdensburg was awarded the Stand Energy Prize.

“The award recognizes an Elmira College student who, in the course of performing an internship with regional businesses or community organizations, has demonstrated outstanding leadership, initiative, creativity, and responsibility,” school officials said in an announcement.

Bush was nominated by her supervisor for her internship at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

In addition to a variety of student clubs and activities, she is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, freshman honor society; Gamma Sigma Epsilon, chemical honor society; Omicron Delta Kappa, leadership honor aociety; and Beta Beta Beta, biological honor society. She is a recipient of the Phi Beta Kappa undergraduate prize, and is applying to medical schools for matriculation in the fall of next year.

Bush also recently presented at the school’s eighth Student Research Conference. She received the received the Natural Science Poster - first prize.
