State police and other law enforcement agencies will be searching North Country homes as they attempt to located two inmates who escaped from Clinton Correctional Facility Saturday.
Law enforcement will be searching homes in the village of Dannemora on Wednesday.
These searches are not the result of a new lead, law enforcement are retracing steps made early in the investigation. Residents will notice an increased police presence in the area.
David P. Sweat, 34, and Richard Matt, 48, were reported missing from the facility early Saturday and are believed to have escaped using power tools and possible help from a third party.
If members of the public see anything unusual upon arriving at their residence or seasonal homes, they are asked to contact law enforcement immediately, according to troopers.
The state police say they have have deployed all available assets in an effort to ensure the safety of the public.
The public should make no hesitation to report any suspicious activity; that includes any sign of a trespass, burglary or vehicle larceny.
