Law enforcement officials ask for information about armed weekend robberies in Rensselaer Falls, Lisbon, Oswegatchie

St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance after three armed robberies were reported Saturday night.

Law enforcement officers from multiple police agencies responded to the calls in the Village of Rensselaer Falls, the Town of Lisbon and the Town of Oswegatchie. People with information about the robberies can call the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's office at 379-2222 or state police at 265-4222.

At 7:10 p.m. the St. Lawrence County 911 Center received a call of an armed robbery at gunpoint at the McAllister’s Liquor Store, 213 Rensselaer St., Rensselaer Falls.

Sheriff’s deputies and troopers responded to the scene. This investigation is being handled by the state police and all questions regarding specific details should be forwarded to this agency.

At 8:48 p.m. an attempted armed robbery was reported at Parkway Store, 9890 State Highway 37, Ogdensburg. Troopers and deputies again responded to the scene. This investigation is being handled by the state police.

At 10:44 p.m. an armed robbery was reported at an Amish residence located at 560 Line Road in Heuvelton.

Sheriff’s deputies and troopers responded to the scene. St. Lawrence County sheriff’s detectives are handling this investigation and are releasing the following details at this time: Around 10:30 p.m. a white male approx. 5’7’’ to 5’11’’ tall wearing a black shirt and black pants and a white female, described as heavier set approximately the same height entered the residence in Heuvelton.

The male suspect while brandishing a black pistol and the female suspect brandishing a knife entered a bedroom in the residence unannounced.

The male suspect allegedly placed a black pistol 8 to 10 inches in length into the chest of the Amish resident forcing him to open his safe.

The suspects took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and other items. Prior to leaving the suspects forced the Amish resident to his knees in his bedroom. The suspects left the residence in what is believed to be a sedan northwest toward County Route 10.

No other details are being released at this time.
