Incumbent supervisor and town councilor officially defeated in Waddington, results unchanged by counting of absentee ballots

WADDINGTON -- In Waddington Republican candidate Sandy Wright secured her victory over Town Supervisor Mark Scott by receiving 36 absentee votes, bringing her total votes to 466.

Scott, who ran on the United Residence party line, received 27 absentee ballots bringing his vote total to 430.

Republican Shaun Prentice held on to his lead over incumbent Democrat Shirley Robinson by just 2 votes.

Prentice received 29 absentee ballots bringing his total to 492, while Robinson received 39, bringing her total to 490.

St. Lawrence County Board of Elections officials said the counts are still unofficial until they have been certified. That process will begin today.
