Hermon woman charged with aggravated DWI and speeding in Potsdam

POTSDAM -- A Hermon woman was charged with driving while intoxicated on Outer Maple Street Sunday morning, according to state police.

Erin M. Tiernan, 32, was charged with first-offense aggravated DWI and speed in zone at 1:03 a.m., police said.

She was allegedly driving 47 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone.

Tiernan failed a series of field sobriety tests, officers said.

She was placed under arrest and brought to the Potsdam Police Department where her blood-alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .20.

Tiernan was cited and released.
