Hammond man threatened boy, troopers charge

HAMMOND -- David M. Pechey, 32, Hammond, has been charged with first-degree criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child following a state police investigation of a threat on a 14-year-old malw.

On July 11 at 3:24 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on County Route 1 in Hammond to assist Child Protective Services with an investigation.

A 14-year-old male at that residence had been repeatedly threatened by Pechey, troopers said, which was in violation an order of protection issued by the Hammond Town Court.

Pechey was arraigned in the Town of Morristown and was released under supervision of probation.

Pechey is to reappear at Town of Hammond Court on July 28.
