Fort Covington man accused of criminal possession of a weapon on Brasher

BRASHER — A Fort Covington man was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, felonies, on Smith Road on Monday morning, according to state police.

David J. Sawatis, 44, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapons, felonies; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, troopers said.

The arrest took place at 1:49 a.m.

The arrest status for Sawatis was not made available.
