Surface high pressure will continue to provide the North Country with mainly clear skies and comfortable temperatures into early next week with highs on the lower 70 expected today and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Sunny skies are expected today with a high near 72 and northwest winds of 3 to 7 miles per hour, NWS says.

The overnight low tonight will be around 49, the service says.

The high Sunday will be near 71 with sunny skies and calm winds, forecasters say.

The next chance for scattered showers is on Thursday.
