A clear Friday night will give way to a cloudy Saturday in St. Lawrence County, which could be followed by rain and snow in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists anticipate a mostly clear Friday night with temperatures getting just below freezing.
Saturday is expected to be cloudy with thermometers climbing to the mid-40s, forecasters say.
That is expected to be followed by 40 to 60 percent odds of precipitation during the p.m. hours, which could come down as snow in the higher elevations, according to the NWS. Temperatures are predicted in the high 30s in most communities and the low 30s in the southern part of the county.
Sunday brings 40 to 60 percent odds of rain in most areas, 30 percent in Massena, with temperatures in the low 40s.
That is expected to clear up before night with temperatures dropping to the mid 20s.
This afternoon - Mostly sunny, with a high near 47. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 30. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light southwest after midnight.
Saturday - Increasing clouds, with a high near 46. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Saturday night - A 40 percent chance of showers after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 37. Southeast wind 7 to 17 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday - A 40 percent chance of showers before 3pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 42. Breezy, with a southwest wind 17 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
