POTSDAM -- A Clarkson student faces menacing charges after a Thursday morning incident involving a pocket knife.
Aaron M. Rist, 19, of Dover, New Hampshire, was charged Friday at 4:28 p.m. with second-degree menacing.
Although the incident occurred early Thursday morning and was reported to Clarkson University, Potsdam Police were not notified until Friday morning.
A Potsdam Police Department investigation revealed that Rist become involved in an altercation with another Clarkson University student and had displayed a folding knife with a 3-inch blade.
Initial reports from the Potsdam Police stated that one man received minor cuts to his hand.
Rist was issued an appearance ticket for the listed charge.
