Brasher Falls, Brier Hill residents earn master's degrees from University of Albany

Two local residents graduated from the University of Albany during its May 15 through 16 Commencement weekend.

Local students receiving degrees:

• Chantal Pinard, Brasher Falls graduated with a Master of Public Administration in Public Administration.

• Janelle Tuper of Brier Hill graduated with a Master of Science in Professional Accountancy.

Educationally and culturally, the University at Albany-SUNY puts "The World Within Reach" for its 18,000 students.

The University at Albany awarded 3,141 degrees, including 2,260 undergraduate and 881 graduate degrees.

The undergraduates received degrees in 50 different majors, with the largest numbers in psychology, business, communication, English, sociology, economics, history, biology, and political science.

Twenty military veterans graduated in the class, with 87 students participating in the Presidential Scholars Program. The class became part of the global network of more than 147,000 living alumni.
