Donald and Doris Deshane

Donald F. and Doris J. (Ward) Deshane of Brasher Falls recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the American Legion in Fort Covington.

The couple was married on July 14, 1959 in the rose garden at the Methodist Church in Bombay, N.Y. by the Rev. Kenneth D. Jones.

Donald is the son of the late Frank and Esther (Gale) Deshane of Brasher Falls, and Doris is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Margaret (Martin) Ward of Brasher Falls.

Their attendants were the late Gordon Deshane, brother of the groom and Eva Sharlow, sister of the bride.

The couple has three sons and two daughters, Donald Jr. and Debra Deshane of Brasher Falls, Bob Shene and the late Marilyn (Deshane) Shene of Westville, Wayne Deshane of Westville, William and Lisa Deshane of Massena, and Bob and Patricia (Deshane) Browning of Parma Heights, Ohio.

Donald and Doris have 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
