Habitat for Humanity reps to man table at new Potsdam Lowe's Dec. 10
POTSDAM -- Representatives of Raquette Valley Habitat for Humanity will be at a table at the front of the new Lowe’s store on Rt. 56 store to answer questions during a fundraiser at the store Thursday, Dec. 10.
Lowe’s has agreed to contribute to the Habitat chapter funds matching the amount of gift cards sold at the store all day, for in-store credit for Habitat up to a total of $5,000. Gift cards purchased for holiday gifts or for personal use all qualify.
Raquette Valley Habitat for Humanity helps to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing for low-income residents in the Potsdam, Canton, Norwood, Norfolk , Massena, Parishville, and Rensselaer Falls areas, thereby promoting a healthy neighborhood environment for community residents.
The foundation for a new home in Canton has been poured. Mark McKenna, Ron Sibbitts, SLU students, SUNY Canton students and faculty are all hoping to be able to continue working on this project over the winter. Ernie Jock, Joe Hazleton, and many volunteers have brought the house on Spruce Street in Massena close to completion.
Lowe’s is a national partner of Habitat for Humanity International and is the underwriter for its Women Build program.
