Motorists ticketed for failing to yield to pedestrians, cell phones, going through red light, speeding in Potsdam

POTSDAM – Village police ticketed motorists for failing to yield to pedestrians, using a cell phone, passing a red light and speeding this weekend.

Charged were:

-- Jason R. Martin, 26, Potsdam, failure to yield to pedestrian in crosswalk on Main Street, at 3:02 p.m. Friday.

-- Gabrielle P. Peters, 20, Lakeside, Conn., passing red light, at 4:08 p.m. Friday, at the intersection of Market Street and Sandstone Drive.

-- Stefan Grimberg, 48, Potsdam, passing red light, at 5:30 p.m. Friday, at the intersection of Market Street and Sandstone Drive.

-- Nicholas M. Fiacco, 22, Norwood, failure to yield to pedestrian in crosswalk, at 7:28 p.m. Friday on Main Street.

-- Kaitlin D. Delles, 21, Theresa, failure to yield to pedestrian in crosswalk, at 12:23 p.m. Sunday on Main Street.

-- Michael J. Simmons, 21, Clinton, Conn., operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone without a hands-free device, at 3:34 p.m. Sunday on Main Street.

-- Thomas F. Young, 45, Potsdam, failure to yield to a pedestrian in crosswalk, at 4:02 p.m. Sunday on Main Street.

-- Jeffrey M. Brown, 33, Potsdam, speeding, for driving 48 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone on Market Street at 4:39 a.m. Sunday.
