Police respond to rash of weekend accidents; motorists in Waddington, Oswegatchie, Lisbon charged with DWI or pot

State police responded to rash of property damage accidents this weekend, arresting motorists in Waddington, Oswegatchie and Lisbon for drunk driving or pot possession.

Police were notified at 2:50 a.m. Saturday of an accident on County Route 28 in Lisbon. Police said a vehicle operated by Drew P. Lowry, 23, Lisbon, overturned onto its left side after he drove off the right side of the road. He had a blood alcohol content level of .21 percent, more than double the .08 percent threshold for DWI, police said. He was charged with aggravated DWI, police said.

At 4:58 p.m. Friday, police were notified of a one-vehicle crash on County Route 44 in Waddington. Vincent J. Halpern, 32, Norwood, was charged with driving while intoxicated, unauthorized use of motor vehicle-no consent from owner, and resisting arrest.

Police received a report at 11:25 a.m. Saturday of a one-vehicle collision on the Stone Church Road near the intersection with the Love Joy Road in Oswegatchie. Driver Kelsey A. Yerdon, 19, Ogdensburg, was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of marijuana-more than two ounces, and a probation violation, police said.

Police are continuing their investigation into a one-vehicle accident on the Judson Street Road near the Ames Road in Canton. They received a report of the crash at 5:40 p.m. Friday. Driver was Nicole Woodrow, 24, Canton.

A two-vehicle crash on NYS Hwy. 11C at the Hallahan Road in Lawrence was reported to police at 2:48 p.m. Saturday. Drivers were James E. Phillips, 58, Malone, and Jason J. Dennis, 31, N. Lawrence. No tickets were issued and no injuries were reported, police said.

Another two-vehicle accident was reported at 10:40 a.m. Friday, at the intersection of County Route 47 and the Crane Road in Stockholm. Drivers were Mark A. McDonald, 24, Ogdensburg, and Alexander D. Ritchie, Constable. No tickets were issued or injuries were reported. Police said.

No injuries were reported or tickets issued following a number of other one-vehicle, property damage accidents:

-- Reported at 5:51 p.m. Friday on the Lacomb Road near NYS Hwy. 420 in Norfolk; driver was Charlene P. Taylor, 38, Brasher Falls.

-- Reported at 4:55 p.m. Friday on NYS Hwy. 68 near the Howardville Road; driver was Sally O. Hoose, 56, Colton.

-- Reported at 5:30 p.m. on the River Road near the Rice Road intersection in Edwards; driver was Adam M. Whitford, 26, Edwards.
