CANTON -- The father of a star St. Lawrence University hockey player and a respected Canadian NHL hockey insider will sign copies of his newly published book Saturday, Nov. 14 at SLU’s Brewer Bookstore.
Bob McKenzie, a hockey analyst for cable channel TSN and father of Saints forward Mike McKenzie, will sign copies of “Hockey Dad: True Confessions of a (Crazy?) Hockey Parent” from 1 to 3 p.m. at the bookstore on Park Street, and between periods of the SLU hockey game that evening versus RPI at the Brewer Bookstore souvenir booth in Appelton Arena.
The book tells the funny and candid story of the author’s life as a “committed parent/hockey coach—or is it parent/hockey coach who should be committed…” in the all-encompassing minor hockey culture of Canada while raising his boys Mike and Shawn.
The book has won praise from such hockey luminaries as Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke and New York Rangers coach John Tortorella.
Copies of “Hockey Dad” are available at Brewer Bookstore, and will be available at Appleton Arena, for $24.95.
