County historical association suggesting gift certificates, ornaments, memberships as holiday presents

CANTON – You might consider a gift certificate or a gift membership from the St. Lawrence County Historical Association this holiday season.
Gift certificates are available in $25, $20, $15, and $10 denominations.
Certificates can be used for any item sold in the SLCHA gift shop at the Silas Wright House, 3 E. Main St.
Gift memberships start at $25 for senior citizens and students. Individual memberships are $30, $40 for families, $55 for contributing members, $100; for supporting members, and $250 + for patrons.
A new 2009 holiday ornament will soon be stocked in the shop. The teardrop-shaped, red and green hand-blown glass ornament is made for the SLCHA by Steve Cressey of Gouverneur. S
hoppers will also be able to choose from a selection of books for adults and children, old-fashioned toys, Civil War maps, games, and toys, and history CDs and maps.
The Silas Wright House and the gift shop are open noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. on Friday. Info: 386-8133, or info@slcha.org
