Board of Elections highlights registration, absentee ballot dates for Election Day Nov. 3

Several local offices and a seat in Congress will be filled through elections on Nov. 3, and the St. Lawrence County Board of Elections has made note of significant dates between now and then regarding registration and absentee ballots.
• Applications for registration by mail must be postmarked no later than Oct. 9.
• The last day a “change of address” can reach the Board of Elections to be effective for the election is Oct. 14
• Board of Elections office will be open 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 24 for the purpose of issuing absentee ballots.
• The last day to apply by mail for an absentee ballot is Oct. 27.
• Board of Elections office will remain open until 7 p.m. on Oct. 29, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 31 to issue absentee ballots.
• The last day to deliver an absentee ballot application or apply in person for an absentee ballot is Nov. 2.
• Absentee ballots must reach the Board of Elections by the close of the polls on Election Day, Nov. 3, except for the ballots postmarked not later than the day before election, which may be received until seven days after the election (Nov. 10) )
General Election Day is Nov. 3. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
