To the Editor:

My name is Scott Wilhelm, and I am running for a seat on the Lisbon Central School Board of Education.

I am a proud Lisbon alumni of LCS. My wife of 18 years and I both graduated from Lisbon Central in 1996.

Our four daughters also attend and enjoy the same school that gave us our educational foundation. I have worked in the educational field for almost 17 years.

Currently I am a teacher at St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES, and prior to that I worked as a computer technician and web developer.

I also worked at Oswego BOCES as a webmaster and network technician. During that time, I also provided IT and web development consulting services to other educational organizations in various other states.

These experiences provided me with a unique perspective and opportunity to see first hand how other districts and organizations work, as well as allowed me to build a network of friends and collegues I am a dedicated member of our community, and I am always looking for ways to contribute.

I co-founded Lights on the River and was the president of the board, where I had the honor of working with the team donating to local food pantries. I have also coached various athletic teams for the past 12 years at the youth, high school and club levels.

I am also an elected member of the IREVA board of directors, which is a USA Volleyball regional organization. If elected, I will ensure that I maintain my responsibilities to the students, community and staff.

I will advocate for the students to receive the education needed to advance their future goals. I will ensure sound financial management of taxpayer money, which utilizes district resources effectively and efficiently.

I also pledge to listen to the needs of parents, children and staff in the school district, and to act upon those interests.

To learn more about me and my goals, as well as to communicate with me, please visit my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/VoteScottWilhelm/, www.facebook.com/VoteScottWilhelm/, I would appreciate your vote on Tuesday, May 15, so I can serve the students, staff and taxpayers of Lisbon Central School District.
