To the Editor:
If you want locally grown listen to the politicians, they think they have the answers. They talk about farm products.
Wood Pellets equals Massena, you can find firewood locally, lumber from the Amish and lots of local people with sawmills and lumber for sale.
Do you know that forestry is a $14.1 billion industry in NYS? Just ask any politician or read Northern Logger Magazine.
Produce can come from the Amish or I checked some stores and here is what I found: Apples come from Massachusetts and Minnesota; potatoes from Idaho and Washington state; garlic from Florida, Mexico and China; onions Georgia; Christmas trees from Canada and Pennsylvania; milk from Syracuse; cheese from Vermont, Minnesota, Wisconsin and beef from Nebraska. I didn't get a full list; but where does our milk go?
