To the Editor:
I would like some information from a reliable source to tell me how successful Gov. Cuomo’s “Start-Up NY” program has panned out.
I’ve been told that the initial program was projected to cost NYS taxpayers a total of $23,000,000.00; creating thousands of good-paying jobs within NYS. When this program floundered, I’ve read on Facebook (a very reliable source for information!) that NYS invested another $27,000,000.00 more to advertise this program.
My understanding is this program has only brought 27 “new jobs” into our State’s business district. If this is true, each job created has cost the NYS taxpayer (us) nearly $2,000,000.00/job.
I hope that my information is wrong.
I hope that a reader of this paper and probably an enlightened Liberal Democrat will give us the facts explaining the benefits for this faltered program.
