To the Editor:
To hear the new County Clerk take credit for saving the day at the clerk’s office, you would think things hadn’t been going well. The County Clerk’s office has become a very efficient, revenue generating, customer friendly department over the years. The revenue that has been brought in through the auto dealer business over the years has helped to keep our local property taxes down. It concerns me that under the new Clerk’s watch that the amount of increase this year is down considerably. It troubles me that he is taking an attitude of who cares if it take more time to get the dealers’ registrations back to them.
We cannot afford to lose this revenue. I will be voting Mary Lou Rupp on Election Day.
