‘Warrior Challenge Run’ set for this September in Potsdam

To the Editor:

Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures is teaming up with Clarkson University to host our first annual “Warrior Challenge Run.”

The Warrior Run Challenge will take place on September 19, 2015 at Clarkson University’s Seven Springs property in Potsdam.

Warning – you will get muddy! This 5K (3.1 mile) challenge takes place on a mountainous course with 10 to 12 fun obstacles to overcome. It is designed for both individuals and teams, with emphasis on the motto “no man or woman left behind” rather than a timed race format, and will include four waves of 250 participants starting at 9 a.m. then continuing at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon.

After the run, we will co-host a post-party celebration with our friends at Between the Buns and the Potsdam Elks Lodge. The post-party will include beers, bands, food and fun, and participation in the run gives you VIP access to this event!

Come take part in this unique event where all proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures program, a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free outdoor activity adventures such as hunting, fishing, camping and boating throughout the United States and Canada for our Wounded Warriors, Battle Buddies and their families.

Participants must be at least 14 years of age to register, and registration will be on our Warrior Challenge Run website starting May 1, 2015 at www.clarkson.edu/warrior_run. The cost to participate is $40 if you register before July 15 and $60 if you register after July 15. This includes your VIP access into the post-party, a participant gift bag and a commemorative t-shirt.

We’re not only looking for participants, but also sponsors to make this event a success. If you or your company/business/organization are interested in becoming a sponsor, please go to the event website listed above for more information.

For more information on Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures, visit our website at www.wwoadventures.com and follow the link to our Facebook page.

Whether as a participant, a supporter, a volunteer or a sponsor, we hope to see you there Sept. 19!
