Wants experience Rivezzi, Carvill bring to board

To the Editor:

As most of you know there will be a Democratic primary for the Potsdam Town Board on Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Town Hall. There are two candidates for three seats.

Rose Rivezzi has been of the board for four years. She came to the board after serving on numerous committees. During her tenure she has worked tirelessly, especially on the joint town and village Recreation Committee. She is serious, thoughtful and intelligent. I think, more than any other member of the board, she has called people for information. Her insights are based on hard work.

I first got to know Ann Carvill when we both were members of the school board. We served together for 11 years. In all that time no none worked harder or with more passion than she did. I don’t say this lightly. Most of the issues facing us in these tough times are complicated. We need people who have been to the rodeo and are willing to pull the heavy load.

Our wonderful supervisor, Marie Regan, is not running again. This will be an incalculable loss for the town. We need people who are experienced, who can hit the ground running. I ask you to vote for Rose and Ann.

Thank you.
