To the Editor:
A huge thank-you to all who participated in “A Walk for a World of Good” to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week 2011 in Canton.
A special shout out goes to the Moms and children from the Massena Breastfeeding Support Group, (thanks Snow!), Travis, Britney and Harley Burns, Elmer and Kristine Phillips, Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County, North Country Children’s Clinic and WIC staff, and to the other families and advocates that I may have missed.
I literally could not have done it with out you all.
I know we were all there because we know how important breastfeeding is for the health of our children and families, and I appreciate you all taking time away from your busy days to show how much you care.
We are planning to do it again next year, also during World Breastfeeding Week in August, and I hope you will all join us then.
Emily Burns, CLC for North Country Children’s Clinic, St. Lawrence County WIC program
